Such horror these immigrants rewriting our sacred National Anthem! April 28, 2006

Can you believe these immigrants, these "illegal" aliens dare to rewrite our sacred national Anthem, our Star Spangled Banner?  Such audacity, such hubris!  How dasterdly!

Or is it??

The GOP Right-wing, you know the upstanding moral authority in this country(?) are outraged and are calling this "The Illegal Alien Anthem".  About 82% have already stated that this Spanish rendition represents a rejection of assimilation into U.S. society, according to an MSNBC Poll.  What have we become, the Borg?

Although, according to a Harris poll, only 61% of adults even know all the english words to our National Anthem!  Let's talk about education here folks!  Between the East Coast and the West Coast lie the most uneducated, bigoted, intollerant people on this planet!  Ask yourselves, do you even know the origin of the Anthem?

With it's origins as a bar toon, "To Anacreon in Heaven" and earlier known as the poem, "Defense of Fort M'Henry", was written by Francis Scott Key, an American lawyer who saught the release of Dr. William Beanes from the British during the war of 1812.  Key was able to obtain the release from the British but was not allowed to return to Baltimore because he knew about their troop positions and their plans for the attack on Baltimore.  It was this that allowed him to be a spectator from his ship in the harbour to the bombardment of Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore and inspired him to write the poem that September in 1814.

With around 389 versions already in print, not to mention the Hendrix version of 1969 now known as a "Rock Classic", there should be no uproar with this new version.

It's only the ignorant, intollerant, bigots in this country - the nascar, beer belly drunken wife beaters in "white" trailor-trash America that cry out their brand of morality on everyone not like them, that have the problem.

Funny how our nation, founded by immigrants of all other lands in the world, a melting-pot of various cultures has forgot where it began.

You supported Bush, but in time, you will come to realize how he targeted you for deception.

You were specially picked because of the attributes you possess: fear, ignorance, arrogance, belligerence, bigotry, and low self-esteem. Bush's political strategists calculated that the people most easily misled and controlled are the ones who fit your profile, so they crafted their propaganda just for you.

He got your support by making you feel better about your personal flaws. He told you to wave the flag because your bigotry is nothing be ashamed of, and to thump the bible because your ignorance is a virtue. You should cherish your hatefulness and small-mindedness as they are family values. You are not society's rejects, but rather, you are higher on the ladder than certain other people. Right-wing radio points them out so that you know who to hate to feel better about yourself.
He feeds you crap about "imminent threat", "patriotism", "spreading freedom", and "flowers and candy". He's only tossing you a bone because he knows he's going to be asking you for a hefty sacrifice soon. He repeats meaningless, mind-numbing platitudes like "Freedom is not free!" and "We're fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here!" You fell for it.

By now, it should be apparent that the invasion of Iraq was a shameless power grab. We're there because the rich, powerful, and greedy of this country, people who you have nothing to do with, want to control that part of the world's oil and strategic resources for decades to come, and they're using your tax dollars and your children's blood to do it. Over a hundred thousand people, American and Iraqi, are dead because of it, and the depleted uranium left behind will ensure that tens of thousands more die afterwards. You call that liberation? Not even that many people died when Saddam Hussein tried to grab Kuwait's oil fields years ago.

Yes, you are a special people, cons. You do not possess patriotism, a love of America, or any of those high-minded ideals as you would like to believe. You possess the qualities that allowed Bush to hijack your free will to do his bidding. You were used, and he did it by playing to the personal shortcomings that most people try to hide. Like Samuel L. Jackson's character at the end of the movie Unbreakable, you become aware, only after the fact, of the disgraceful role that you were destined to play. You will come to realize that you are history's bad guy. Like the McCarthyites or the brownshirts, you will serve both as a symbol of shame and a warning to future generations. You truly are a special people.

GOD HELP US ALL, AND AMERICA.

How many more Generals have to come out and tell this retard of a president to get rid of Rumsfield?

When Rumsfeld told a soldier "you fight with what we give you" when the soldier aked why the equipment they needed to stay alive in Iraq was not available. Rumsfeld went back to America and drove around in an armored vehicle! Something our troops don't have the "luxury" of doing in a combat zone! Not to mention the unavailability of body armor, radio's, etc. essential to the troops survival. American troops parents were having "Bake Sales" in order to get this equipment to our troops from "private companies" to them in Iraq and Afghanistan!

Is this the type of man, or administration that should be responsible for planning military actions with the least possible number of American casualties? I don't have to take the word of some generals on the ability of Rumsfeld in his position, or those who put him in it! Their own words and actions are all I have to consider.

But maybe you have to "Think About It"!!

How many more Americans will die while you are thinking about it?

It's the liberals. It's the ACLU. It's Clinton. It's Monica. It's the "climate of permissiveness". It's France. It's the liberal media. It's Clinton's penis. It's Hillary. It's Governor Dean.

We never could have known they'd fly planes into buildings. "No actionable intelligence". They didn't tell us to do anything. O'Neill's lying. Clarke's lying. General Shinseki's lying. The Union of Concerned Scientists is lying. Our own weapons inspector David Kay's lying. Wilson's lying. John Dean's lying. Newsweek lied! CBS lied! Everyone's lying but us. We had to lie. We never lied.

Plame outed herself. Her husband outed her. The liberals outed her. No one outed her, since everyone already knew her covert identity. Rove had nothing to do with it. No comment. Lib'ral, lib'ral, lib'ral.

t's the liberals trying to pull Schiavo's feeding tube. It doesn't matter that DeLay pulled his own dad's feeding tube. "Culture of life". It's Janet Jackson's boobs; it's the Statue of Justice's boobs. Reading the news might cloud my judgement. It's the "decade our government…blinded itself to our enemies". It's the homosexuals wanting to marry.

"Restore honor and dignity to the White House". A decision to go to war wasn't a decision to go to war. "No actionable intelligence". It's the pledge of allegiance. They're taking God out of America. Osama didn't tell us when, how, where, and by what means he'd attack, and he didn't leave a forwarding address. The 9/11 panel is biased against us. Saddam = Al Qaida. Saddam = Al Qaida.

Chalabi's an honorable man and I believe everything he says about WMDs. Chalabi's a crook and he passed secrets to Iran. Chalabi's the liberals' fault because they didn't shoot us when we started using his "intelligence". Chalabi? I don't know any 'Chalabi'!

It's just a few dead-enders. They'll be gone when we capture Saddam. They'll be gone when we capture Saddam's sons. They'll be gone when we hand over "sovereignty". They'll be gone when Iraq has elections. They'll be gone in 12 years. They'll never be gone. We fight them in London so we don't have to fight them, er, uh, well, can't get fooled again!

Bolton didn't lie! He just knowingly gave incorrect answers under oath. Aw, so what's another ISLAMIC STATE in the mideast? It's not like Bush has made it a home for terrorists or anything!

No one could have anticipated that a category 5 hurricane aimed directly at New Orleans would have destroyed it! No one could have anticipated that they might need federal assistance quickly! Of course no one's in charge of accepting the generous aid offered by other nations — isn't that the mayor's responsibility? Being a judging supervisor for the Arabian Horse Association is ample experience to head FEMA! It's the mayor's fault! It's the governor's fault! It's Howard Dean's fault! It's CBS's fault!

It's the Monica Crime! Ted Kennedy killed Mary Jo! Libtards killed Terry Schiavo! Wah! Wahhhhhhh! It's all these former staffers hawking their books. Money never corrupted anyone. "I'm a uniter, not a divider!" It's the stem cells. It's the feminazis, the intellectual elitists, and the ecoterrorists.

It's Cthulhu. It's the martians.

It's anyone but Bush.

What nation in their right minds would turn down the creation of a UN resolution for a new Human Rights Council?

The only type of country that would be against a world watchdog would be one that possibly violates those rights and doesn’t want to be exposed to the world. One with a continuing pattern of human rights violations both internally and internationally, where military and political officials are the ones in power.

Possibly a country with such a record of torture, secret detentions, “extraordinary renditions”, rejection of the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Cournt (ICC), denial of due process and generations of capital punishment, even for minors and the mentally disabled - all as a matter of official policy.

One whose leader denies their own historical constitution and presides as emperior, king or dictator. One who adopts the attitude of preemptive strikes all for their own personal sake against nations that they personally do not agree with — even if that nation has democratically elected their representation.

This all sounds like Russia in the Cold War era. Possibly during the beginning of the last century when they went from an Autocracy to Communisim with Lenin in 1918. Their leaders changed their country’s policies in order to maintain and stay in power.

Are we beginning to become that for which we fought against for so many decades? Yes, it’s the United States under the rule of the Neo-Conservatives in all branches of the government that is leading us down this path.

Where will it all end up - it all depends on you. Only you can change the direction, now while you are still able, and take back this once great nation from the Neo-Conservatives in this administration this coming November and end the Republican Neo-Conservatives reign of destruction and irresponsibility on this world.

Dear Mr. President,

I know:
Just because you dodged the Viet Nam draft by going into the National Guard and then went AWOL, doesn’t necessarily mean you are unpatriotic.

Just because everything you worked on failed or required a bail out doesn’t necessarily mean you are not a good decision maker.

Just because you stopped an investigation into Osama Bin Laden just before he attacked on 911 doesn’t necessarily mean you are not capable of making good decision in the war on terror.

Just because you froze for seven minutes doesn’t necessarily mean you are confused and indecisive.

Just because you pulled most of our troops out of Afghanistan before getting OBL, doesn’t necessarily mean you lack the focus and commitment to get the job done as Commander in Chief.

Just because you were wrong about Iraq’s Uranium enrichment program, long range missiles, remotely powered aircraft, mobile biological laboratories, chemical and biological weapons, ties to the 911 attack or anything that could be considered a clear and immediate danger to our country, doesn’t necessarily mean you have invaded a country in a manner that is illegal under international law.

Just because you withdrew from the control of international human rights treaties, the Geneva convention, and war crimes courts and told the soldiers to get information from prisoners “By any means necessary,” doesn’t necessarily mean you were setting up a culture that was conducive to war crimes and torture.

Just because you “Shocked and Awed” a defenseless country, destroying their roads electrical grid, water supply communications, killed their women in children as they sleep at home in their beds, or men as they prayed in Mosques, doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t understand how to win the Battle for the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people.

Just because you took what you said was a projected $6.4 Trillion surplus and turned it into more than a projected $2 Trillion deficit doesn’t necessarily mean you are not a fiscal conservative.

Just because you pulled out of the Kyoto accord and reversed almost all the environmental protections of our air water and wilderness, doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t understand the importance of a clean and healthy environment to the quality of life.

Just because your drug bill benefits the drug companies and HMOs at the expense of the sick and elderly, doesn’t necessarily mean you are not compassionate.

Just because you have polarized the country more than any leader is history doesn’t necessarily mean you aren’t a uniter.

Just because you have alienated our traditional allies and energized out enemies, doesn’t necessarily mean you lack diplomatic skills.

Just because the jobs you have promised have not materialized while more and more have been outsourced, does not necessarily mean you do not care about the circumstances of the working man.

Just because you have replaced the outgoing supreme court justices with right wing conservative individuals doesn’t mean our basic rights will be forsaken.

Just because you stonewalled the 911 investigation for 18 months and the CIA leak for longer, doesn’t necessarily mean you have anything to hide.

Just because you have already spent more on smearing your opponent than any candidate in history, doesn’t necessarily mean you are afraid to run on your record.

No, Mr. President, None of those necessarily mean anything, but I have decided not to believe you when you say it is best to stay the course in Iraq.

Why?

Just because.

Seems like someone needs to tell Bush, he’s got it wrong! According to the latest news from the Independent, even his right-wing neocon backers now think the war in Iraq is a mistake!

Geez, and you think all those wiretaps on Liberals would have clued him in!

Well it’s confirmed, Bush lives in LaLa land! He really does have his own reality and is so out-of-touch with the American people. Those few, actually only 32% and declining that still support him, are those who support Party over principle and don’t care about American Democracy. It’s party over everything else for those types of hopeless morons.

Not only did Bush get us into an unprovoked war over certain lies (how do true Christians get around this one) in Iraq - but he has now caused such chaos that it will most certainly will erupt into a Civil War! Much like when Afghanistan was at war and Rumsfield and Reagan supported Osama Bin Laden (whose family is friends with the Bush family) and gave him training and arms to fight the Soviets.

Truly sad times that can only be salvaged by the removal of Bush and his cronies and any Republicans who still support him during the November elections.

Bush is wrong according to US Christian Leaders February 27, 2006

Bush was critisized for his actions against Iraq and U.S. Christian Leaders of the World Council of Churches (WCC) appoligized for the U.S. Government’s foreign policy of preimentent attacks and war mongering.

But, what I find especially puzzling is that the member churches of the WCC are not the conservative hard-line right-wing religious movement in the U.S. but are the more liberal Christians.  The religious-right in the U.S. is behind the war and the Bush policies of deception, lies and death.  Kind of tells you the types of Christians that believe they have the moral high ground in this country!
